At St Cecilia’s we seek to ensure that the presence of Jesus Christ and His Church is at the very heart of the life and mission of our school. We believe that it is important to “Discover, Develop, Rejoice”. We share the vision of the Catholic Education Service, which says that: “Christians are called to fulfil their potential and strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives. Catholic education therefore strives to offer students every opportunity to develop their talents to the full through their academic work, spiritual worship and extracurricular activities”.
St Cecilia’s is dedicated to the ongoing education of children within the mission and vision of Salford Diocese. We acknowledge that parents are the first educators of their children and we support them in this role.
Catholicism is a living faith and we aim to make a positive impact on our community, both local and global. This is aided with the guidance and support of teachers and our School Chaplain.
At St Cecilia’s we want to encourage and reward pupils for living according to Gospel values as well as attributes of learning. Jesus talks about human flourishing in the Bible when he says: “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10). Saint Peter also said: “Add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness.” (2 Peter 1:5-6). We believe that by practicing the virtues above we will become them.
