At St Cecilia’s RC High School, we have a calendared plan for our celebration of the Word with a theme based on the liturgical year. This is known as an APOP.
Celebration of the Word is held weekly for each Year Group (7-11) and are led by the Senior Leadership team, the Head of Year, and their team of form tutors. Staff members are also welcome to deliver a weekly theme during the academic year.
Students take an active part in Collective Worship, bearing witness to their faith. Each form prepares and delivers an assembly to their peers with a little help from either their Form Tutor, or the School Chaplain.
Occasionally, guest speakers are invited into school to address topical, local or international issues. One group that visits our school annually is the Good News for everyone! (formerly known as Gideons) who kindly distribute a Bible to every Year 7 pupil as part of their transition into St Cecilia’s.
