At St Cecilia’s we offer our Year 10 pupils the opportunity to undertake their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a nationally recognised qualification that is regarded very highly by Colleges, Universities and Employers.
Completing this award allows you to expand talents and broaden abilities through the opportunity of trying something new!
In order to achieve the award, there are four sections to complete:
Volunteering |
Skill |
Physical |
Expedition |
Make a difference by doing something that meaningfully impacts those around you |
Increase your expertise and broaden your understanding of a chosen activity |
Undertake some physical activity showing personal improvement |
Complete a two day expedition, by your own efforts, showing independence and determination
|
This award is run in school, by our qualified staff members – Miss Livesey and Mr Haughey. An assembly will be held to give you all the information you need if you are thinking that completing this award is for you. Updates will also be on the two noticeboards in school (one is at the bottom of the Math's stairs, the other is in Miss Livesey’s room). Please see your teachers if you have any questions or look on the Duke of Edinburgh’s website: https://www.dofe.org/
