Five of our students along with Mrs Bretherton went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land (Lindisfarne) for the weekend.
It was a wonderful and very special experience one to be remembered for a very long time.
The SVP volunteers looked after us very well and we had great food.
Bishop John led us on a walk around the Island and it was a very spiritual time for us all we he talked about the saints Cuthbert, and Aiden and how they were the first to bring Christianity to the country. Bishop John led the mass the following day and had his evening meal with us. The following day we went paddling near St Cuthberts Island saw sealions and had a small service then sang songs. It was a beautiful day.
In the evenings we played games had quizzes and lots of hot chocolate and down time after a very busy day.
On our last night we walked to the castle and took pictures, then it started to thunder so we made our way back to camp the lightening was spectacular over the island.
The morning we left the Bishop came to wave us off and all the volunteers waved us off as well. Everyone should go to the Holy island where you are not a tourist you are a pilgrim.
