On the 26th of June, our school community gathered in the Sports Hall to celebrate our End of Year Mass — a joyful and prayerful occasion marking the culmination of a special Jubilee year. We were honoured to welcome Bishop John Arnold, who led the celebration, and to be joined by Fr Benjamin and Canon Doyle, who concelebrated with him.

The theme of the Mass was "Jubilee: Pilgrims of Hope", echoing the call of Pope Francis for the global Church to reflect on key themes in the lead-up to the 2025 Jubilee Year. These themes — Eucharist and Prayer, Justice and Solidarity, Anchor of Hope, and Pilgrimage — were beautifully captured on four display boards that served as focal points throughout the celebration.

As part of our Jubilee journey, we looked back on meaningful moments from the year, including our pilgrimage to Ladywell and our visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. During Lent, we were blessed to have Eucharistic Adoration in our Chapel, with the support of Fr Dutton, deepening our experience of prayer and reflection.

The school choir, as always, enriched the celebration with their outstanding music, lifting the hearts of all gathered with the official Jubilee hymn and some much-loved favourites. Our dedicated Altar Servers did a fantastic job assisting throughout the Mass and were proud to serve alongside the Bishop.

A special moment during the Offertory was the introduction of our new House Saints, whom we will come to know and be inspired by in the new academic year.

Following the Mass, Bishop John, along with Mrs Hall and members of our Catholic Heart Ambassadors, visited our newly refurbished Prayer Garden. There, Bishop John spoke about our shared responsibility as stewards of God’s creation and offered a special blessing over the garden and our school community.

It was a beautiful and memorable celebration of faith, community, and hope — a true highlight to end the year.
