Year 11’s had a fantastic day on retreat at the Animate Centre in St Helens on the 5th November.

The day was so well organised, and action packed. From the moment pupils entered they began making and

baking bread.  This served as a metaphor throughout the day, as we need to consider the God given ingredients each of us has.

(Our gifts and talents) to discover what is next on our journey. Pupils took part in a variety of activities such as looking at moral situations and how to react.

Fr Simon and the team went through different scenarios and pupils had fun with this task. During break and lunch there was a tuck shop and games inside and out.

The aim of the day was centred around self-discovery and thinking about the next steps of their lives after school. The day ended with a murder mystery simulation game and he twist was that it was a real murder.

Fr Simon summed up the day by explaining that ‘God wants us to be happy, he has plans for us to keep us safe have hope for the future. God does not want us to be miserable and unhappy. He wants us to use our gifts and talents for us to be fulfilled here on earth.
