We ended the term, as is our tradition, by celebrating a whole-school Mass. This year, we were delighted to gather at St Wilfrid's Church, just a few minutes' walk from school. Fr Dutton even had to bring out extra chairs to accommodate everyone—but we just about managed to fit!
The Mass was a wonderful occasion, and the behaviour, reverence and participation of our pupils were exemplary. We were also fortunate to have our 'A Team' of altar servers, who are now becoming true veterans of the sanctuary. Their confidence and professionalism continue to grow with every Mass, with one member of staff describing their service as simply "seamless."
Over the past few years, we have used our end-of-year Mass as an opportunity to launch the theme for the coming academic year. Last year, Bishop John introduced our New Form Saints initiative. This year, we unveiled our new theme: "Growing Together as People of Prayer."
Throughout the coming year, our whole school community will focus on deepening our relationship with God through prayer. We will encourage everyone—staff and pupils alike—to grow in confidence, explore different forms of prayer, and challenge themselves to develop a richer and more meaningful prayer life.
