The Year 7 football team booked their place in the final , after a hard-fought semi-final victory.

Following a dominant 6–0 win over local rivals Longridge High in the previous round, this encounter proved far more competitive. St Cecilia’s controlled much of the game, but clear chances were limited in a tense first half that ended 0–0.

The breakthrough came shortly after the interval. Arthur unleashed a powerful free-kick that the goalkeeper could only parry, and fox in the box, Tobias was quickest to react, firing home the rebound with composure.

Ashton responded with pressure, but the defence held firm. Millar and Charlie were outstanding at the back, while Player of the Match Hamish produced a commanding display to shut down any threats. Elliot also stepped up superbly, replacing the injured Alex and sweeping up danger effectively.

The second goal soon followed, as excellent work from Jacob led to a low cross that Callum converted.

A late goal from Ashton set up a nervy finish, but the team showed great resilience to hold on and secure their place in the final.

Special mention goes to Olivier for another excellent refereeing performance under pressure.
