Last week in order to prepare for St Cecilia’s day this year, we spent time in forms learning about our school Patron Saint. Pupils learnt about her life and martyrdom. In KS3 they produced beautiful artwork including some scripture and well-known quotes of St Cecilia. Mr Hewitt and the Senior prefects delivered a thought-provoking assembly to educate us further on her early life, deep faith and willingness to serve God. On Saint Cecilias Day, Fr Doyle came in to celebrate Mass with years 7 and 8 pupils in the school Hall. The Mass which coincided with our school inspection, was a wonderful experience with many staff brought to tears, as the pupils literally sang their hearts out. Fr Doyle also commented on the very moving experience. Pupils at St Cecilia’s really do cherish and are proud of our Saints.
