Lee House Refugee Exhibition Journey to Sanctuary

On the 21st June 2016,  St Cecilia’s RC High School hosted the Programme for the Launch of the Refugee Exhibition ‘Journey to Sanctuary’.  At 1:00pm we welcomed people from various charities like Mr Mark Wiggins from Caritas, Ann Wilson from CAFOD, Joe Howson & Mark Rotherham from Lee House and Dianne Nzoga a refugee. At 1:35pm Mark Wiggins spoke about the Salford Diocese Refugee Response. At 1:45pm Ann Wilson spoke about CAFOD’S response and resources. At 1:55pm Joe Howson & Mark Rotherham spoke about the Journey to Sanctuary Exhibition. At 2:05pm Dianne Nzoga spoke to us about kindness and understanding and what is life like as a refugee.

Fr David Chinnery blessed the exhibition and then the exhibition was open. Guests experienced Sara’s story as a refugee. We had to wear headsets to listen to Sara’s story and instructions on when to go to the next room. Other guests looked at the refugee resources available and signed a CAFOD petition.
