This year Saint Cecilia’s were pleased to be awarded the Fair-active School Award from the Fair-trade foundation.
Fairtrade Cafe 26th February 2016
Once again the Fairtrade / Chaplaincy Group rose to the challenge of organising and running the annual Fairtrade Café at St Wilfrid’s RC Parish Room. They were supported by the ASL Department, Mrs Gornall, and Mrs Warrilow who provided cakes and lifts. Ms Hall and Ms Walmsley joint the group for a cup of tea. A special thank you goes to Mrs Oldham, a parent, for her involvement in the café. Pupils from St Mary’s RC Primary School, Chipping, and their teacher Mrs Butcher helped to run the raffle and took part in decorating their own cupcakes.
The Fairtrade Group would like to express their sincere thanks to Mrs Denise Atkinson and Mrs Linda McKay for their support, their cakes and their encouragement. Further thanks go to Father David, visitors, parishioners, ‘School’s out’ after school club, pupils, parents and staff from St. Wilfrid’s RC Primary School who all helped to raise £113 for Father Steven’s Mission in Kenya.
